Various Artists - Yes Progressive Rock (2007)

A collection of great progressive rock anthems, with participation of super-group prog-rock band Yes' members in this recording, compiling songs from Pink Floyd in its enterity, excepting Yes song "Roundabout", performed by Rick Wakeman.

The album in question is the work of Billy Sherwood who was a member of Yes in the 1990s and also produced an album or 2 for them. As well as his own career, bands Circa and Yoso, he does this "tribute" type album.

They are normally put together with a core band with guest stars from the world of Yes and prog adding their parts. I don't think they are done to "better" the originals but HD a certain amount of interest if you are a fan of the musicians or the music.

Of course the other Market they cater to is the fact that they are on sites like emusic while Floyd, Zeppellin or Beatles aren't (there are similar albums for those bands).
